Image descriptionPFLCW invites you to its
7th General Assembly

PFLCW’s aim is not only to uplift the socio-economic conditions of women and their families but also to make them active partners in community development. Women at the local levels are not mere passive recipients of help. They can help themselves and eventually, they can improve their lives if they are given the opportunity to acquire proper business skills and learn different marketing strategies. Thus, on its 7th year General Assembly, PFLCW aims to promote sustainable livelihood programs through Internet marketing and educate delegates on its usefulness. With the theme, “E-Marketing: Helping Women Help Themselves,” the assembly will be held at the Top Plaza Hotel in Dipolog City on November 18-20, 2009. Every year, PFLCW conducts General Assembly to team up with various stakeholders and conjoin members and leaders of local councils of women. By way of assembling, PFLCW is able to provide delegates with venue for knowledge-sharing and equip them with livelihood opportunities, which they can share among their constituents. Because of these concerted efforts of local government units, non-government organizations, private sectors and other civil society organizations, more women at the local levels are benefiting from various livelihood programs and skills training.

Trading Store

Lack of economic opportunities and access to resources are just some of the many obstacles women have to tackle in order to achieve their full competitive potential. To answer the need for women economic empowerment, one of the objectives set was “to enhance sustainable access of women to capital, market, information, technology and technical assistance.”

In line with this objective, PFLCW, Inc. continues to seek new ways of widening women’s economic opportunities and ensuring long-term capacity building. What better way to execute that objective than to encourage small and micro business owners in pursuing greater entrepreneurial ventures. By launching a virtual shop, which is aptly called ePinayStore, PFLCW, Inc. aims to mobilize and sustain micro enterprises at the local level.

Image descriptionPortal to Pinay’s Entrepreneurial Success: www.pflcw.com

Our organization’s official website, www.pflcw.com, is envisioned to be a portal to every member’s entrepreneurial success. By converging various stakeholders and micro enterprise programs from different provinces and regions, our website will open more opportunities for business and livelihood. It will be a repository of information such as, but not limited to, the organization’s best practices, trading partner updates, available livelihood skills and management training, financing cooperatives, investment options and working papers and legal documents on creating micro enterprises.

How to Succeed in Online Business? One third of people that shop online use search engines to find what they are looking for and about one fourth find websites by word of mouth. As in marketing and advertising strategies, positive word of mouth draws customers in a website. When an online shopper has a good first experience with a certain website, sixty per cent of the time they will return to that website to buy more and tell others about it.

The key on keeping customers coming back is to live up to common business etiquette such as returning to e-mails in a timely fashion, updating customers on the development of their orders, and being good stewards of their data. This is precisely the reason why the PFLCW, Inc. Secretariat will act on behalf of traders and sellers when dealing with customers.
